Do something different with your Valentine this year — bake a cake! Whipped is holding three couples-friendly baking/decorating classes in the next week. They'll provide light refreshments, and you get to take home your handiwork (chocolate, vanilla or red velvet) after learning how make it all pretty. Valentine's Aphrodisiac Dinner at Day by Day

City Food Tours is bringing you an informative V-Day option at Day by Day. The dinner is built entirely around foods believed to be aphrodisiacs; you'll also learn about the ingredients of Cleopatra's supposed love potions along with a general history of the relationship between love and food. Eat Your Broken Heart Out at Teri's

Chef Jennifer Zavala is bringing you the ideal anti-Valentine affair: a misery dinner for lonely, dateless or opposed-to-romance eaters. She'll be cooking a four-course meal, with pastries by Christina Clark; the veg- and celiac-friendly menu includes dishes like scallop/squid-ink pasta and sweet-potato soup. Spend your V-Day at Fishtown’s newest French bistro. The evening’s five-course menu will feature lobster bisque, beef tartare with quail egg and pan-seared halibut, among other plates.
