Joe Pesce

1113 Walnut St.
215-829-4400

Seafood, Center City East

Joe Pesce marks the city return of chef Joseph Tucker, a Philly kitchen vet who’s back after several years running restaurants down the shore. The restaurant’s name pretty much tells the story — Tucker’s menu is big on seafood, from pasta (the “Pescatore” features shrimp, crab, clams and mussels in a tomato sauce over linguini) the decadent Shrimp Royale entrée (jumbo shrimp bursting with Tucker’s “special” crab stuffing served in a roasted garlic sauce). Tuesday through Friday, check out the “Four for Four” happy hour, featuring $4 drinks and appetizers from 4 p.m. on. Open for lunch Mon.-Fri., 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; open for dinner Mon.-Thu., 4-10 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 4-11 p.m.; Sun., 3-11 p.m.

  • Average entree over $20
  • Reservations recommended
  • Vegetarian options
  • Liquor license

Wonderful diner type atmosphere. Great food and great service. Ask for Karolina, she herself is worth a visit to this great establishment. »»

Food wasn't bad. Good appetizers at happy hour. The manager is a real jerk though, look out for him. Eh, with the amount of places in Philly, I wouldn't go back.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I have to say the food was amazing and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this place for anyone with a craving for some good Italian seafood.
